My Daily Walk as a Son of God: How I Live in the Spirit Every Day

 Introduction

Many people think living a spiritual life means big dramatic moments or constant miracles. For me, it is mostly in the quiet, daily choices — walking as a son of God even in the ordinary moments of life in Nairobi.

This is how I try to live every day in the spirit, despite my deafness and the challenges of daily life. It is not always easy, but it is possible through consistent surrender and trust in God.

Morning: Starting the Day with the Father

Every morning, before the noise of the day begins, I spend time in quiet prayer. I don’t speak with my mouth, but with my heart. I thank God for another day, for His protection, and for the breath in my body. I ask Him to guide my thoughts, words, and actions.

This simple habit helps me remember who I am — not just Teddy the writer or the deaf man, but a beloved son of God. Starting the day this way sets the right foundation. It reminds me that my identity and worth come from Him, not from what the world says or what my physical limitations suggest.

Throughout the Day: Living in the Spirit

In the middle of work, writing, or moving around Nairobi, I practice staying aware of God’s presence. When challenges come — frustration, loneliness, financial pressure, or physical limitations — I turn to the Holy Spirit for strength and peace.

My deafness has actually helped me here. Because I live in relative silence, it is easier to listen to the still, small voice inside. I have learned to pause, breathe, and ask: “Holy Spirit, what do You want me to do in this moment?”

Whether I am writing a new post, replying to messages, or walking through the busy streets, I try to do everything as unto the Lord. This daily awareness turns ordinary tasks into acts of worship.

Evening: Reflection and Gratitude

At the end of the day, I take time to reflect. I thank God for the small victories and ask for forgiveness where I fell short. I review my thoughts, words, and actions. This daily review keeps my heart soft and my faith alive.

Sometimes I write down what I learned that day. These notes become seeds for future posts and books. Reflection helps me see God’s hand even in the small things.

Practical Tips for Daily Spiritual Walk

Start and end the day with prayer (even if it’s just 10–15 minutes of silence before God)

Pause during the day to remember God is with you

Turn everyday tasks into acts of worship

Read the Bible or spiritual books regularly

Share your faith through your work and words

Keep a simple journal of God’s faithfulness

These small habits, done consistently, build a strong spiritual life.

Final Encouragement

Living as a son of God is not about perfection — it is about daily surrender and trust. Even in silence, God speaks. Even in weakness, His strength is made perfect. Even in the busy streets of Nairobi, His presence is real.

If you are struggling to live a consistent spiritual life, start small. One prayer. One moment of awareness. One act of obedience. Over time, these small steps become a powerful walk with God.

How do you practice your daily walk with God? What helps you stay close to Him in ordinary days? What challenges do you face?

I would love to hear your experiences in the comments below. Let us encourage one another to live as children of God every single day.
