My Daily Walk as a Son of God: How I Live in the Spirit Every Day
Introduction
Many people imagine that living a spiritual life is filled with dramatic miracles and extraordinary experiences. While God certainly performs miracles, I have discovered that walking with Him is often found in the quiet moments of everyday life. It is a daily decision to trust Him, obey Him, and remain close to His presence.
My name is Teddy Waiyaki Saiteye. I am a deaf and non-verbal Christian from Nairobi, Kenya. Although I cannot communicate through spoken words, I have learned that God speaks to the heart. My disability has taught me to listen carefully to His guidance and depend on Him every day.
This is how I strive to live as a son of God.
Starting Each Day with God
Every morning, before I begin my daily activities, I spend time with God. I cannot pray with my voice, but I pray from my heart. I thank Him for the gift of another day and ask Him to guide my thoughts, decisions, and actions.
The Bible says:
"For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God." — Romans 8:14
This verse reminds me that being a son of God is not about being perfect. It is about allowing the Holy Spirit to lead me every day.
My Deafness Has Strengthened My Faith
Many people think deafness is only a limitation. While it brings challenges, God has also used it to draw me closer to Him.
Because I live in silence, I have learned to slow down, reflect, and seek God's direction. My relationship with Him is built on faith, not on physical hearing.
When I face difficulties, I remember God's promise:
"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." — Philippians 4:13
His strength gives me hope when I feel weak.
Living in the Spirit Throughout the Day
As I work, write, or travel around Nairobi, I try to remain aware of God's presence.
Sometimes I face discouragement, loneliness, or financial challenges. During those moments, I silently pray:
"Holy Spirit, guide me. Help me choose what pleases You today."
The Bible teaches:
"Walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh." — Galatians 5:16
Walking in the Spirit is not a single event. It is a daily lifestyle of trusting God.
Staying Connected to Jesus
Jesus said:
"I am the vine; you are the branches... apart from me you can do nothing." — John 15:5
These words remind me that my strength, wisdom, and purpose come from Christ alone.
When I stay connected to Him through prayer, reading Scripture, and obedience, I experience His peace even during difficult seasons.
Practical Habits That Help Me Grow
Here are some habits that help strengthen my faith:
Begin each day with prayer.
Read the Bible every day.
Thank God in every situation.
Help and encourage other people.
Trust God even when I do not understand His plans.
Keep learning and growing spiritually.
Write about what God is teaching me through my blog.
These simple habits have helped me remain faithful in my walk with Christ.
Encouragement for Anyone Facing Challenges
Life is not always easy. We all experience disappointment, fear, and uncertainty. Yet God remains faithful.
If you feel weak today, remember that God sees your heart. He has not forgotten you.
Start with one simple step:
Pray sincerely.
Read one chapter of the Bible.
Trust God with today's worries.
Keep moving forward in faith.
Small acts of obedience become a strong spiritual foundation over time.
A Prayer
Heavenly Father, thank You for calling us Your children. Help us to walk in Your Spirit every day. Give us wisdom, courage, and faith to trust You in every circumstance. Teach us to love others and remain faithful even during difficult times. May our lives bring glory to You. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Final Thoughts
Living as a son of God is not about achieving perfection. It is about choosing to follow Jesus every day with humility, faith, and love.
My journey as a deaf and non-verbal believer has taught me that God speaks powerfully to the heart. His grace is enough, His strength never fails, and His presence is with us wherever we go.
No matter where you are today, I encourage you to keep walking with God. One faithful step at a time can lead to a life filled with peace, purpose, and hope.
